It doesn't seem like a similar question has been asked before, but if it has, then please accept my apologies. Anyway, to the question. I have an Advent 7011 laptop (not sure whether this brand exists internationally, see for specs), and on the back it has the 4 pin s video socket you normally see on tv-out equipped laptops these days. However, I have a problem in that I don't know how to make XP recognise a second monitor/TV. I've seen it done both in real life and internet tutorials, and it generally seems to be a display properties->settings->play around with the two monitors you can see displayed type of affair. However, when I go to the settings tab, all I see is a single monitor, and no amount of looking into advanced setings yields any hope of a second one turning up. Believeing that it was the SiS card inside my laptop that should be behind all this, I successfully updated to the latest drivers, but. Does anyone have any idea what I might be missing here? I probably ought to add that when I inherited this laptop, it was in a slightly dubious state as a dodgy DVD drive had resulted in a rather 'halfway' windows installation, leaving many devices without drivers etc. However, I reinstalled everything, and apart from this one issue have had no problems whatsoever, so I'd be very surprised if it were a hardware issue, although I'm fully prepared to be proven wrong. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what I should do? Many thanks, Matt. Dear Bob, thanks for sucha prompt reply. I presume that you found the link to that driver set on the spec page I linked to. I hadn't found those particular drivers, and I'm grateful for the reference, but I must confess to being a little confused as to why you chose that particular set, the Genio-A550. I'm not trying to say that I think you're wrong, but I can't quite see how you've mnaged to make the jump from Advent 7011 to Genio-A550. If I'm being dense then please forgive me, but I'd just like to confirm that these are definitely drivers that belong on my system before I take the plunge. Assuming that everything's OK, would it be fair to assume that the VGA drivers are the ones that I need? Or do you think I'd be best of just installing all the drivers they have in an effort to restore the laptop to its 'original' (fully functional) state? Once again, many thanks for the swift answer. I downloaded the VGA drivers, unzipped them and started setup.exe. However, after the license agreement I was told that the drivers weren't suitable for my system. This kind of makes sense, as the drivers in the download were cleary ATI, and I don't think there's any of their stuff inside my laptop. Taking a hint from you, I tried a little googling, but with a lot of the pages that came up being written in german I had a bit of a hard time of it. However, with a little persistance (and excluding the word 'battery' from my searches) I came up with pages like this one: I have no idea what it says, but noticing the words 'Bellagio Evolution' I went back to the FTP site that you supplied, and lo and behold there was a directory with similar name. I'm tempted to just try these out and see what happens, but considering the facts that a) I don't know what'll happen if I install the wrong thing (this is the newbies' board after all) and b) the deductive process I used to get this far was pretty random, and may well mean nothing whatsoever, I also feel a little hesitant. Do you think I should just try it and see what happens, or is there anything else I might do instead? Thanks again, Matt. I Hear Your Voice Episode 10 Subtitle Indonesia. I checked those results, especially the very first one, and it seems like you're right. I'm afraid that I'm not exactly certain where to take it next, so I'll have to wait for your next installment. BTW, please don't feel that this something that you need to rush over if you're busy at the moment - while I would like to watch DVDs etc on my TV, waiting a few days is hardly going to cause my downfall or anything similrly melodramatic.
